Inaugural Learning & Networking Event – Melbourne, 9 April 2018
On Monday 9 April 2018, the Women's Leadership Initiative held its very first Learning & Networking event in Melbourne.
The distinguished panel offered rich insights of political leadership in the Pacific, from speakers:
- Hon Ali’imalemanu Alofa Tu’uau, Member of the National Parliament of Samoa and Co-chair of the Women's Leadership Initiative's Steering Committee
- Hon Dr Sharman Stone, Australia's former Ambassador for Women and Girls
- Hon Ralph Regenvanu, Member of the Parliament (MP) of Vanuatu
- Ms Robyn Forester, CEO, Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre
The event was attended by over 54 guests, including Australia Awards scholars, academic and private sector partners.
Australia Awards scholars were able to consider their current and future roles in the political leadership of their countries as well as learn more about the Women's Leadership Initiative.
At the event's close, guests enjoyed sunset networking among the skyscrapers of Melbourne’s CBD.
