After a year of extraordinary challenges, the Women’s Leadership Initiative 2020 cohort intensive (finally) goes ahead!
Postponed from February due to the Australian bushfires, Canberra's unprecendented hail storms and a global pandemic, participants from the 2020 cohort finally got the chance to get together in Canberra from 23–27 November.
Ten future leaders from five Pacific countries got to spend the week out in the Australian bush, building connections, putting their leadership learnings into practice and networking with lifelong friends!
The week of learning and laughter ended on Friday with a trip to Australian Parliament House, and an audience with Ambassador for Gender Equality, Ms Julie-Ann Guivarra.
The outstanding Australia Awards scholars spent a week immersed in activities designed to prepare them for leadership roles in their workplaces, communities and countries. We’re excited to watch these smart, courageous and passionate women leaders as they embark on their leadership journeys!
The Women’s Leadership Initiative’s leadership and mentoring program takes outstanding Pacific women scholars on an 18-month leadership journey, equipping them to lead positive development change in their region.
